Video - Woodland Magic: The Secret Santa Star
Two characters, Miranda and Nicholas are in their early 20's. Nicholas is a young version of Santa Claus, lean and strong with reddish hair, and Miranda is his very close friend, blonde, trim, wavy hair and blue eyes. Miranda has desperately searched for Nicholas in the woods, he has been gone for days. On a snowy evening, she finds him. They are in the woods in a special place that has been created by Nicholas by hand carving wood into a small magical village of several houses and artifacts. What follows is the scripted dialog. Stepping off the porch, she walked around the corner of the house and, in the middle of this small wooden kingdom, there was a burning outdoor firepit surrounded in stone. She let out a long needed sigh of relief. Sitting by the fire, with his back to her, was a very familiar figure. He was holding a clump of wood in the air in front of his face. She watched as he moved his right hand in a circular motion around the clump, never touching it. As his hand moved, the wooden shape became smoother and smoother, until it was as perfectly round. With his right index finger, he touched the surface of the wooden sphere and slowly pulled his finger away. For a moment, there was nothing but space between his finger and the ball. Then, on the surface, the wood slowly moved and stretched away from the ball, as if it were trying to reach out to his finger tip. It formed an exquisitely fine point coming off of the ball. As she stood watching in silence, he repeated this motion dozens of times until there were pointed sprites coming from every part of the rounded wood. It was no longer a ball, it was a...star. Nicholas, focusing on his project, didn’t even look up. “You’re not exactly what one would call ‘stealthy,’” he said.
