It is a place where time seems broken, a forgotten existence hidden deep in the emerald maze of the jungle. Locals speak of it in hushed tones, a place of legend and darkness, a village whispering about it in the dead of night around crackling fires. At the center of this strange wilderness, a village is said to exist. The villagers have pale, almost translucent skin that stretches across their angular features. Their eyes held profound knowledge that seemed to see through centuries past. Strange stories happen throughout the village. People claim to have seen lights dancing in the night sky above it and heard haunting melodies carried by the wind. I only dared to look at the edge of the forest. The trees seemed to be watching, their gnarled branches reaching out like bony fingers. And sometimes, on windless nights, I can hear a faint whisper, a haunting melody carried by the wind.
