Did you know that during the War of the Roses (1455-1487), two rival houses fought for the English throne? The House of Lancaster, symbolized by a red rose, battled the House of York, symbolized by a white rose. This brutal conflict resulted in the deaths of many nobles and royals, including Richard III, who famously died at the Battle of Bosworth Field. The war finally ended when Henry Tudor of the Lancastrian house defeated Richard III and married Elizabeth of York, uniting the two houses and establishing the Tudor dynasty.
