Video - The Vengeful Straw Scarecrow
In a wide field, under a gray sky, a lone straw scarecrow stands. A straw hat covered his face, and his ragged camouflage clothes fluttered in the wind. Along the shore is a living straw, where its base used to be before. This scarecrow is not an inanimate object. It was once a man, a gentle farmer named Samuel. Samuel spent his entire life cultivating this field, planting wheat and harvesting it in the fall. However, one year a fierce drought invaded, robbing Samuel of his entire sleeping season. His family was in poverty, with no food to live on. In desperation, Samuel begged the landowner to lend him money, but the attack ruined the dream of Samuel leaving and taking over his fields. Feeling miserable and desperate, Samuel went to the fields and committed suicide. His soul is still wild here, attached to the scarecrow he once made. Every full moon night, Samuel saw the grass again. It dragged itself across the field, the sound of dry straw rustling in the wind was like a cry from someone crying. The Scarecrow turns to those who have robbed him of his life and happiness: cruel landowners, borrowers who don't pay back, and those who belittled him when he was in trouble. With straws as sharp as knives, Samuel the straw scarecrow avenges what he had to protect. It spreads terror to those who have hurt them, causing them to live in their hearts and in fear. The story of Samuel the Scarecrow became a local legend, a warning to greedy and cruel people. It is rumored that if you look into the scarecrow's eyes on a full moon night, you will be told words and encounter horrifying things. As the years passed, the field changed hands many times. However, seeing Samuel's straw still there, serves as a gentle reminder of human brutality and the power of the avenger.
