Antony thought it was impossible, but Cleopatra had a trick up her sleeve—or should we say, in her jewelry box. She took one of the largest pearls in the world, dropped it into a goblet of vinegar, and watched as it dissolved. Then she drank the concoction, winning the bet and proving her point.
