Osman Gazi thought and consulted. He agreed with Dursun Fakih. That day, Dursun Fakih read a sermon on behalf of Osman Gazi and declared the sultanate of the bey. Thus, he laid the first mortar in the foundation of the great Ottoman State. He performed his first Eid prayer in Eskişehir. After the death of his teacher Edebali, Dursun Fakih gave lectures in his dervish lodge. He answered the questions asked. He was consulted on important state affairs. Dursun Fakih also served as the closest advisor (adviser) of Osman Bey's son, Orhan Bey. After Iznik was taken by Orhan Gâzi, Bilecik Judge Çandarlı Kara Halil became the Iznik judge, and Dursun Fakih was appointed as the Bilecik judge. Dursun Fakih, who made great efforts in religious and state affairs until the end of his life, passed away in Bilecik in the first half of the 14th century. His grave is in the Sheikh Edebali tomb in Bilecik today. On the right side is the tomb of Sheikh Edebali, next to him is the tomb of Dursun Fakih. There is also a mausoleum that can be visited on a hill around the Küre village of Söğüt. Dursun Fakih, a man of knowledge and virtue, was very advanced in asceticism and piety, good morals, and in obeying the orders of Allahu ta'ala and avoiding his prohibitions. He guided the statesmen at all times and made a great contribution to the continuous progress of the state and to laying the solid foundations of the 600-year-old Ottoman Empire.
