**The Whispering Shadows** In a small village, there was an old, abandoned house that everyone avoided. Legend said it was haunted by spirits of the past. One night, brave young Tom decided to explore the house with his friends. They laughed and joked as they approached, but as soon as they stepped inside, a chilling silence filled the air. They found old furniture covered in dust and cobwebs. Suddenly, Tom heard a whisper, "Get out..." He turned, but no one was there. His friends heard it too, and their laughter turned to fear. The whispers grew louder, "Leave now..." Panic set in, and they ran towards the door, but it slammed shut. The shadows on the walls began to move, taking human forms. Tom felt a cold hand grip his shoulder. "You shouldn't have come," a voice hissed in his ear. They fought to escape, and finally burst out, never to return. Tom never spoke of that night again, haunted forever by the whispering shadows.
