Did you know that some of the greediest kings in the ancient world were known for their insatiable lust for wealth and power? King Croesus of Lydia was so wealthy that he famously asked the Oracle of Delphi if he should go to war with Persia, believing his riches made him invincible. King Midas of Phrygia was so obsessed with gold that he wished everything he touched would turn to it, only to realize the curse brought him misery. King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon hoarded treasures in his palace while his people suffered, leading to his downfall. These kings' greed ultimately led to their demise.
