I got caught with my next door neighbour's garden gnome. The one she cherished more than anything else in the world. I didn't mean to take it, but it was just so cute sitting there, tempting me with its quirky smile. As I tried to sneak it back under the cover of darkness, Mrs. Jenkins stepped out onto her porch, her eyes wide with shock and anger. I froze, guilty as charged. But instead of yelling, she burst out laughing, tears streaming down her face. "I've been wondering where that little rascal went," she said. And just like that, we became unlikely friends.
