Once upon a time, a kind old woman baked a gingerbread man. She decorated him with icing eyes and a smiling mouth. But as soon as she opened the oven, the gingerbread man jumped out and ran away, shouting, "Run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!" The old woman chased gingerbread man , but he was too quick. Along the way, he met a cow, a horse, and a pig. Each tried to catch him, but he laughed and said, "Run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!" Finally, the Gingerbread Man came to a river and didn't know how to cross. A clever fox offered to help. "Jump on my back," said the fox. As they reached the middle of the river, the fox began to tip, and the Gingerbread Man moved to the fox's nose. Snap! The fox gobbled him up. And that was the end of the Gingerbread Man.
