Those who agreed to give jizya were left in their places.With the passing of Belgrade, the junction point of the Danube and the Sava, into the hands of the Ottomans, the Hungarian Plain was opened to the Turks. With the fall of Belgrade, all the castles, palaces and towns around it surrendered and joined the Ottoman Empire. The conquest of Belgrade made great repercussions in Europe. Because this place was considered one of the impregnable strongholds of the Christian world. Thirty years after this conquest, the Austrian ambassador wrote: "The capture of Belgrade was the beginning of the painful situation into which Hungary later fell."Indeed, a few years later, Kanuni marched on Hungary again, the Christians were defeated once again, and Hungary disappeared.
