The storm had come out of nowhere, capsizing the boat and leaving Zara clinging to a floating cast iron frying pan. She washed up on the shore of a deserted island, alone and half eaten by a shark. Days turned into weeks as she scavenged for food and built a shelter from old plastic bags. One evening, she noticed smoke rising from the other side of the island.
