Rain pelted the windows of Sal's Barbershop as Eli stumbled in, soaked and breathless. "Help me, Sal!" he gasped. Sal, a burly man with kind eyes, set down his scissors. "What's wrong, Eli?" "He's after me," Eli whispered, glancing at the door. Sal's gaze hardened. "Go to the back." Moments later, a shadowy figure entered. "Seen a man run in here?" Sal smiled, gripping his razor. "No one but customers." The figure left with a sneer. Eli emerged, trembling. "Thank you, Sal," he sighed. Sal nodded, resuming his work. "Always got your back, kid." The storm outside raged on.
