Did you know that the Sikh warriors in India were so formidable that they won numerous battles against much larger forces? Take the Battle of Saragarhi in 1897, for instance. Just 21 Sikh soldiers defended a remote outpost against 10,000 Afghan tribesmen. Despite being vastly outnumbered, they fought valiantly for hours, inflicting massive casualties on the enemy. Their bravery was so legendary that they were all posthumously awarded the Indian Order of Merit. And here's a twist—this epic stand is commemorated every year on September 12th as Saragarhi Day.
