Once upon a time, an old man walked along a deserted beach. The shoreline was covered with thousands of stranded starfish, left behind by the receding tide. As he strolled, he noticed a young girl picking up starfish one by one and tossing them back into the ocean. Curious, the old man approached her. Why are you doing this?" he asked. There are so many starfish here. You can't possibly make a difference.The girl smiled and replied I know I can't save them all but I can make a difference for each one I throw back. To that starfish it matters.The old man was moved by her compassion. He joined her picking up starfish and tossing them into the waves. As they worked side by side, he realized that even small acts of kindness matter.
