Did you know that during World War II, the British government developed a plan to create an artificial iceberg to use as a massive aircraft carrier? The plan was called Project Habakkuk and involved using a mixture of wood pulp and ice to create a floating runway in the Atlantic Ocean. Despite the ambitious idea, the project was eventually abandoned due to its impracticality and high costs. Imagine fighter planes taking off from an iceberg in the middle of the ocean!
