Video - Mountain Tunnel Battles of WWI
Did you know that during World War I, Monte Grappa in Italy was the site of some of the most intense and bizarre battles? To stop the Austro-Hungarian forces, Italian troops built a massive underground fortress in the mountain, complete with tunnels, artillery, and even a hospital! The fighting was so fierce that soldiers would sometimes emerge from the tunnels only to find that the enemy had tunneled right next to them. Picture this: you're having lunch in a mountain tunnel, and suddenly the guy next to you is from the opposing army! So, next time you think your neighbors are too close, remember Monte Grappa's underground chaos. Have you ever heard of such close-quarters combat? Let me know in the comments! Follow for more videos
