Rain pelted against the window as Clara stared at the news: another murder, another victim bearing her face. The phone rang. "Clara, is that you?" her mother’s voice trembled. "No, Mom, I’m safe." She glanced at the mirror, her reflection smirking back at her. In the shadowy glass, her twin stepped forward, identical but for eyes that glowed malevolently. "You can’t hide forever," hissed the doppelgänger. Clara’s heart pounded as she grabbed a knife, her trembling hand mirroring her twin’s. The lights flickered. One Clara screamed; another laughed. When darkness returned, only one remained, her eyes glowing red.
