The clock struck midnight. Jessica's phone buzzed, an unknown number flashing on the screen. She hesitated, then answered. A whisper. "Leave your house. Now. They're coming." Heart pounding, she glanced out the window. Shadows moved unnaturally across the moonlit yard. She grabbed her keys, fleeing to her car. As she sped away, her phone rang again. The same whisper, colder this time. "Too late." She looked in the rearview mirror. A figure, dark and twisted, sat in the backseat, grinning. Jessica screamed, swerving off the road. The last thing she saw was its eyes, glowing with malevolent hunger.
