Maplewood Manor stood spooky and silent under the moonlight. The wind whispered eerie tales about the old, abandoned house. But Jen, Mike, Lucy, and Sam were too curious to stay away. Armed with flashlights, the friends stepped inside. The air was chilly, and cobwebs hung like curtains. They decided to split up to explore. Lucy walked down a dark hallway. She heard faint whispers and saw a door creak open by itself. In the library, Jen and Mike felt the room get colder. Suddenly, a book titled "The Curse of Maplewood" flew off the shelf. In the basement, Sam felt a cold hand on his shoulder and heard creepy child’s laughter. Shaken, the friends met back in the foyer. They all had strange stories to tell. "We need to get out of here," Sam said. But as they ran to the front door, it slammed shut on its own. Suddenly, the chandelier above them started to swing. A ghostly figure appeared at the top of the stairs, whispering, "Leave... this... place..."
