Video - Lost Kingdoms: The Mystery of Kumari Kandam - Ancient Tamil Civilization submerged in the Indian Ocean

There is a very mysterious class of literature called the Sangam literature in Southern India, considered some of the oldest writings available in the Tamil language. These writings describe an ancient kingdom called Kumari Kandam, which is said to have spanned from India to Madagascar. According to these texts, a very advanced civilization once ruled this kingdom. However, due to rising sea levels, this land was submerged in the Indian Ocean, leading the inhabitants to migrate to different parts of the globe. The Tamil-speaking ethnic group in India still traces its roots to this mysterious kingdom, and intriguingly, the influence of the Tamil language is found in many native languages around the world. Did this kingdom really exist? In 1864, zoologist Philip Sclater proposed the existence of a continent called Lemuria to explain lemur fossils found in India and Madagascar, but not in Africa or the Middle East. In 1870, biologist Ernst Haeckel theorized that Lemuria could be the ancestral home of all mankind. The idea of Kumari Kandam, or Lemuria, suggests a lost chapter of human history.
