Talk about getting lost and discovering an entire continent instead. When he landed in the Bahamas, he thought he was in India, hence calling the natives "Indians." Fast forward to the 16th century, Hernán Cortés conquered the Aztec Empire with just a few hundred men and a lot of luck—or maybe it was the smallpox that wiped out the Aztecs?
