Did you know that grasshoppers are incredible jumpers? They can leap about 20 times their own body length. Grasshoppers have ears, but they're not like ours. Their ears are located on their bellies, near their hind legs. Another cool thing about grasshoppers is their amazing ability to blend in with their surroundings. Some grasshoppers can change color to match the plants they're sitting on, which helps them hide from hungry birds. Ever wondered why grasshoppers make that chirping sound? It's actually the males who make that noise by rubbing their hind legs against their wings. They do this to attract females and to communicate with other grasshoppers.
