For those who don't know, Keke Napep are these yellow tricycles that zoom around the streets of Lagos. John thinks he's got this figured out, but boy, is he in for a ride—literally and figuratively. John confidently flags down a Keke, but he doesn't realize there's a whole negotiation process before you even get in. So, he hops in and tells the driver, "Take me to Ikeja," and the driver just laughs. They agree on a price after some confusing back-and-forth, and off they go. But here's the kicker: John didn't ask for the quickest route. They end up taking the scenic tour of every back alley in Lagos! Every bump feels like a mini earthquake, and John’s holding on for dear life. At one point, the Keke makes a sharp turn, and John nearly flies out! To make matters worse, he tries to make small talk with the driver in broken Pidgin, saying, "This ride na wah o!" The driver chuckles and speeds up. John finally reaches his destination, looking like he's been through a washing machine. Lesson of the day? Always agree on the route first and hold on tight!
