Thunder roared as Eliza, Mark, and Sophie stumbled upon the castle, its gargoyles sneering in the rain. Inside, skeletal remains littered the cold stone floor; ghostly whispers echoed through the halls. Mark shivered as he touched a dusty candelabrum, igniting phantasmal flames that revealed transparent forms writhing in torment. Sophie screamed as icy fingers brushed her arm. Eliza's eyes widened, realizing the ghosts were former trespassers, eternally trapped. A spectral voice hissed, "Join us." The doors slammed shut; the air grew colder. Their screams merged with the wails of the damned as they, too, became part of the castle's cursed history.
