Title: “John Viviano: The Grumpy Canine” My next-door neighbor’s apartment is nice, but it is also very small. And he has three pets in there: a dog, a cat, and a parrot! The dog’s name is John Viviano. He is big, brown, old, and grumpy. But he is also very sweet sometimes, especially when he’s in a good mood. John Viviano loves to nap in the sun, and his tail wags when he sees familiar faces. His favorite treat is peanut butter, and he’ll do tricks for it—well, at least when he feels like it. One sunny afternoon, I found John Viviano sitting by the window, watching the world go by. His eyes were half-closed, and he let out a contented sigh. I wondered what he was thinking—maybe reminiscing about his puppy days or dreaming of chasing squirrels. Despite his gruff exterior, John Viviano had a heart of gold. When I was feeling down, he’d nuzzle my hand, as if saying, “It’s okay, human. Life has its ups and downs.” And somehow, that made everything better.
