Video - From Wolf Cubs to World Conquerors: The Epic Evolution of the Roman Empire!
Did you know that the Roman Empire started as a small city-state and ended up as one of the most powerful empires in history? It all began in 753 BC when Romulus and Remus, two brothers raised by a she-wolf, founded Rome. Talk about a ruff start! Fast forward a few centuries, and Julius Caesar comes along, expanding the empire and declaring himself dictator for life. He was later assassinated by a group of senators, one of whom was his friend Brutus. Et tu, Brute? After Caesar's death, Augustus became the first emperor, ushering in the Pax Romana, a period of peace and prosperity. But not all emperors were great; Caligula once declared war on the sea and made his horse a priest. Neigh way! Eventually, the empire got too big to handle and split into Eastern and Western halves. The Western Roman Empire fell in 476 AD, but the Eastern part, known as the Byzantine Empire, lasted another thousand years. Now, isn't that a tale of epic proportions?
