Video - Exploring Kyoto's Spiritual Treasures
Welcome to Kyoto, Japan—a city steeped in history and spirituality, home to over 1,600 temples. Today, we embark on a journey through the heart of Japan’s spiritual heritage, exploring the timeless beauty and cultural significance of these sacred sites. Our first stop is Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion. Originally built as a retirement villa for the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu in the 14th century, this Zen temple is adorned in gold leaf, reflecting its beauty in the surrounding pond. The serene gardens symbolize harmony, inviting visitors to meditate and reflect on the transient nature of life. As we continue, we arrive at Fushimi Inari Taisha, renowned for its thousands of vermilion torii gates. Each gate is a donation by individuals or businesses, symbolizing their hopes and aspirations. The trails lead to the sacred Mount Inari, where visitors can experience a profound connection with nature and spirituality.
