The moon was bright. Little Ellie the owl couldn't sleep. She flapped her wings and hooted softly, "Good night, stars! Good night, trees!" But she still felt wide awake. Ellie decided to visit her friends. First, she flew to Squeaky the mouse's hole. "Good night, Squeaky," she whispered. Squeaky yawned, "Good night, Ellie." Next, Ellie visited Ribbit the frog by the pond. "Good night, Ribbit," she said. Ribbit croaked, "Good night, Ellie." Ellie felt sleepier. She returned to her cozy nest. "Good night, world," she murmured, tucking in her feathers. And with a final hoot, Ellie drifted into dreamland.
