Video - Eel Extraction: A Shocking Medical First!
Doctors remove eel from patient's abdomen: a first! Doctors at Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam, have removed a 60-cm live eel from a patient's abdomen. The 31-year-old man, who was admitted on July 27, reported severe abdominal pain after inserting the eel through his anus for sexual pleasure. According to "Vietnam News", the eel had bitten the patient's rectum and colon in an attempt to escape into the abdominal cavity. Initially, doctors tried to remove the animal through the anus, but a lemon was blocking the passage. Emergency surgery was required. When opening the patient's abdomen, doctors found, in addition to the live eel, a lemon that had also been inserted through his anus. Both items were successfully removed. A colostomy was performed to prevent fecal matter from passing through the cut caused by the eel's bite. Although they have already removed baby bottles, cups and adult toys from patients, doctors say this was the first case involving a live animal. Can you imagine if this trend catches on?
