During World War II, the British army employed over 200,000 homing pigeons to carry messages across enemy lines. In the 1800s, the Australian government declared war on emus after they destroyed crops, resulting in the Great Emu War. And in the 1900s, a goat named Sergeant Bill was promoted to sergeant in the British Army for eating official documents. Animals sure do have a fascinating history, don't they?
