Video - Against All Odds: David's Triumph Over Goliath

Title: David and Goliath Scene 1: The Valley of Elah Goliath: (booming) I defy the ranks of Israel! Give me a man, that we may fight together! (The Israelite soldiers tremble in fear, murmuring among themselves. King Saul stands among them, worried.) King Saul: (to his soldiers) Who will face this Philistine and remove this disgrace from Israel? Israelite Soldier: (fearful) None dare, my king. He is a giant, a warrior from his youth. (David, a young shepherd, arrives, carrying provisions for his brothers. He hears Goliath's challenge and the murmurs of fear among the soldiers.) David: (approaching Saul) Let no man's heart fail because of him. Your servant will fight this Philistine. King Saul: (astonished) You are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. David: (confidently) The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from this Philistine. King Saul: (sighing) Go, and the Lord be with you. Scene 2: The Battle (David walks into the valley, armed only with his sling and five smooth stones. Goliath, seeing him, laughs mockingly.) Goliath:(sneering) Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks? Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field! David: (standing firm) You come with a sword and spear, but I come in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand. (Goliath, enraged, charges towards David. David quickly takes a stone, places it in his sling, and hurls it at Goliath. The stone strikes Goliath on the forehead, and he falls face down to the ground. The Israelites cheer.) King Saul: (amazed) Truly, the Lord is with this young man. (David runs to Goliath, stands over him, takes Goliath's sword, and cuts off his head. He holds the head high, and the Philistines flee in terror. The Israelites pursue them, victorious.) David: (raising his voice) Let all know, there is a God in Israel!
