The Nazis even tried to hide their anti-Semitic policies by temporarily removing signs banning Jews from public places. Imagine cleaning up your room just before guests arrive, but much worse. Despite the propaganda, these games marked the first live television broadcast in history. So, in a weird twist, the Olympics brought us both one of the greatest athletes of all time and the first TV sports coverage. But here's a kicker: Hitler refused to shake Owens' hand.
